President Donald Trump helped break the news that his eldest son was engaged for the third time, but he now says he might not make it to the wedding.
Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson announced their engagement in a White House event in December. Page Six and CNN have reported the wedding is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend in the Bahamas. A representative for Trump Jr. did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation.
Trump was asked if he plans to attend while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on May 21.
"He'd like me to go," Trump said of his son. "But it's going to be just a small, little private affair and I'm going to try and make it. I'm in the midst, I said: 'You know this is not good timing for me, I have a thing called Iran and other things.'"
Trump also said he has known Palm Beach socialite Anderson for a long time.

Anderson is a socialite and model based in Palm Beach, Florida.
She is the daughter of a Palm Beach businessman and philanthropist, Harry Loy Anderson Jr., and Inger Anderson. Harry Loy Anderson Jr. also had three other daughters and two sons, according to his obituary in the Palm Beach Daily News, part of the USA TODAY Network.

Trump Jr. was previously married to former model Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018. They have five children, including rising golf star Kai Trump. Currently, Vanessa Trump is dating golf legend Tiger Woods.
Trump Jr. started dating now Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle in 2018 after his divorce from Vanessa Trump was finalized. The pair were engaged and bought a house together in 2021 and split sometime in 2024. (Guilfoyle was once also married to California Gov. Gavin Newsom.)

Trump's public schedule for Saturday and Sunday does not list any weddings or trips to the Bahamas.
The president is scheduled to be in Rockland County, New York, on May 22 for a speech, and then in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he owns a club and golf course, until May 24.
