Vote for the WNC high school softball regular season player of the year
The high school softball regular season is over, and the postseason is underway in Western North Carolina.
Before the season wraps up and the postseason awards come out, the Citizen Times is asking fans for their opinion on which athlete was the best in the 2026 regular season. Stats are through the end of the regular season.
Vote for the softball player who is having the best season. The poll closes May 15 at noon.
Savannah Frisbee, Enka: Frisbee batted .508 with six doubles, eight home runs and 25 RBIs. She pitched 106 innings with a 12-3 record, 165 strikeouts, 37 walks and a 1.98 ERA.
Kendall Rumans, Franklin: Rumans hit .581 with 48 RBIs and 51 runs scored and had 17 doubles and nine home runs.
Gracie English, Mitchell: English powered the Mountaineers from the middle of the order, batting .506 with nine doubles, five home runs, 34 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
Sadie Jo Hunter, North Buncombe: Hunter was 12-1 with 161 strikeouts and 19 walks over 78⅓ innings, recording an ERA of 0.27. She also hit five home runs with 24 RBIs.

Mia Roland, Owen: Roland batted .756 with an on-base percentage of .845 for the Warlassies. She hit 13 home runs, 45 RBIs and 48 runs scored with only one strikeout.
Lilly Inman, Pisgah: Inman batted .507 with 18 doubles, seven home runs and 40 RBIs. In the circle, she went 15-3 with a 2.93 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 117 innings to lead the Bears to a conference title.
Ella Nelms, Robbinsville: Nelms brought her 0.08 ERA and 172 strikeouts over 83 innings into the postseason. She also had a .579 batting average with 16 RBIs and three home runs.
Rylee Rawls, Swain County: Rawls is 14-2 with a 2.06 ERA, 110 strikeouts and 26 walks over 95⅓ innings. She also hit.453 with 19 RBIs, nine doubles and two home runs.
Kendall Williamson, Tuscola: Over 21 games, Williamson had a .571 batting average with 15 doubles, two home runs and 34 RBIs. She also had a 3.87 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched.
Ella Rousseau, West Henderson: Rousseau batted .580 with seven doubles, four home runs and 32 RBIs. She also had a 7-1 record in the circle with a 4.87 ERA and 29 strikeouts over 46 innings pitched.
