The idea behind ABCâs Dancing with the Stars, which premiered in 2005 and is now celebrating its 20th year on broadcast TV, was to pair celebrities who have little to no dance experience and pair them with professional partners who instruct them in various dances such as the Cha Cha, Viennese Waltz, Jive, Rumba, and more.
Then each week, viewers in the ballroom and at home watch as they do their best to transform into dancers, receiving points from the judges as to their skill level and also collecting votes from viewers at home, who vote to keep their favorites â not necessarily the best dancers â in the competition.
While there are those who succeed admirably, there are also those who, despite their best efforts, fail. And, then there are those, who donât really give it their best effort, and as they say on another ABC reality series, are there for the wrong reasons.

The one celebrity that everyone pretty much agrees belongs on the worst list is rapper Master P. Partnered with pro Ashly DelGrosso in Season 2 of the dance competition, he is famous for earning the lowest score of all time: an 8 in Week 4 for his Paso Doble.
That said, Master P was a last-minute replacement on the show, only signing on when his son Romeo was injured before the season began airing. It was clear from the start that he was hoping to be eliminated in Week 1, but his popularity kept him there until Week 4.
Corey Feldman

Another obviously reluctant competitor was Corey Feldman, who appeared to have no clue what was expected of him when he signed on, so it seemed as if he was there just for the money, and hoped to be quickly eliminated, which he was on Week 2 of Season 34. The only reason it took that long was that no one was eliminated in Week 1. It was unfair to his partner Jenna Johnson, who had won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy the season prior, but there wasnât much she could do when he wasnât showing up for rehearsals.
Sean Spicer

Season 28âs Sean Spicer wasnât just a bad dancer; his casting was also partially responsible for Tom Bergeron losing his job as host of DWTS when Tom complained that Spicer shouldnât be cast because it made the show too political. Despite low scores that should have seen his elimination, Spicer had the Republican vote behind him, and he and partner Lindsay Arnold finished in sixth place. That said, unlike Master P and Corey Feldman, Spicer did seem to want to be in the ballroom.
David Hasselhoff
The fact that David Hasselhoff had a successful music career, albeit in Germany, he had no musicality when it came to dance. Partnered with Kym Johnson in Season 11, apparently his Baywatch popularity wasnât enough to save him, and he was eliminated in the first results show of that season.
Michael Bolton
Hasselhoff wasnât the only bad dancer in Season 11 of Dancing with the Stars. Michael Bolton also makes the list for worst dancers. So much so that judge Bruno Tonioli went so far as to call Hasselhoffâs jive with pro partner Chelsie Hightower "the worst" he'd ever seen.
Tucker Carlson
Tucker Carlson was game when he hit the ballroom floor alongside pro partner Elena Grinenko on Season 3 of the dance competition, but on Night 1, he scored a 12, the lowest score of the night for his Cha Cha. But despite seemingly having a good time, it wasnât enough to keep him in the competition, and he was the first contestant eliminated in his season.

Kim Kardashian

Yes, the reality TV star makes the short list of worst dancers despite being partnered with one of the best pros â Mark Ballas â to ever appear on DWTS. Ballas has won the Mirrorball Trophy three times, including the previous season with Kristi Yamaguchi. But he and Kardashian had no chemistry, which ended up being their downfall. She was the third contestant eliminated in Season 11.
Kate Gosselin
Jon & Kate Plus 8 reality TV star Kate Gosselin also just didnât have the moves. Paired in Season 10 with Tony Dovalani, she started at the bottom of the leaderboard and pretty much stayed there until being eliminated in Week 5, when the judges finally saw a glimmer of improvement. It also didnât help that Gosselin didnât appreciate Dovalaniâs method of teaching, causing him to actually walk out on her one rehearsal.
Steve Wozniak

Being a wizard at math doesnât necessarily translate into learning how to Cha Cha, as Steve Wozniak found out when he signed up for Season 8. The Apple co-founder was paired with Karina Smirnoff, and while he continually received some of the lowest scores from the judges, the popular vote kept him in. He was finally eliminated in Week 4.
Jerry Springer
The talk-show host set the precedent for whatâs happening with Andy Richter this season. Springer consistently received low scores that kept him at the bottom of the leaderboard, but his fanbase kept him in the competition. He wasnât eliminated until Week 7, which saw him and partner Kym Johnson make it to fifth place. But there was a wonderful story as to why he signed on: He wanted to learn the waltz for his daughterâs wedding, and that heartfelt reason helped win the popular vote.
Geraldo Rivera
Despite a surgery that left him without feeling in his right foot, Geraldo Rivera decided to take his chances in the ballroom. Partnered with pro Edyta ĆliwiĆska, Rivera danced twice in Season 22 and after the judges' scores â the lowest for the season -- were combined with the popular vote, he became the first contestant of his season to be eliminated. Rivera told FOX411, "I was awful -- but I had a good time."

The founder and CEO of Big Cat Rescue, who became a household name after appearing in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King, took to the ballroom floor with pro partner Pasha Pashkov, dancing a Paso Doble to "Eye of the Tiger." Still, it wasnât enough to save her and she was the second to be eliminated in Season 29.
