John Cougar Mellencamp said his daughter, Teddi Mellencamp, is "really sick" as she continues to battle brain cancer.

The 74-year-old musician opened up about his 44-year-old daughter's health on a Jan. 14 episode of the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast. "It's not (expletive) fun," John told host Joe Rogan. "She's got cancer in the brain, and she's suffering right now."

In 2022, the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum revealed she was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and by 2025, the cancer had metastasized to her lungs and brain, Teddi confirmed.

In October, Mellencamp said there was "no detectable cancer" in her body, but she'll remain "on immunotherapy for another year" and is "not considered in remission or anything like that."

"I'm feeling positive, but I also would say that my mood and my overall energy level shifts by the hour," Teddi told USA TODAY in May. "There's moments of fear and there's moments of whatever, but as long as I'm moving my body and taking action, then I seem to be in a more positive mindset."

Teddi is married to husband Edwin Arroyave, whom she married in 2011, and they share four kids, including Slate, Cruz, and Dove, as well as stepdaughter Bella.

Teddi Mellencamp attends iHeartRadio's 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango in Huntington Beach, California, on May 10, 2025.

In 2024, she announced their divorce, but the pair have hit pause on the divorce amid cancer treatment.

Kyle Richards said her "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" costar was "cancer-free" in December, saying, "That was just the best call you could ever hear in your life."

"She's giving me pep talks, too," Richards told USA TODAY. "So we're there for each other for sure."
