Taylor Frankie Paul is addressing where she stands going forward with her role on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Appearing live on TV on Good Morning America for the first time following the news of an ongoing "domestic assault investigation" into Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, the Mormon Wives star addressed the situation, including whether or not she will continue in her role on the show. Her appearance comes after a source confirmed to PEOPLE earlier this week that production had halted on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5 amid the investigation."It's hard to say now, right, just with everything going on," Paul, 31, told GMA's Lara Spencer on March 18 when asked how she envisioned her future on the show. "It’s hard to see past this, I’m not going to lie. In this moment, it’s just so heavy."

While speaking with Spencer, Paul touched specifically on the state of the Hulu show's production, saying that "as of now [she] got word that it also has been paused."Spencer then pointed out that Paul was an executive producer on the show, to which Paul replied "Yeah, I got told that this year.""Oh, you didn’t know that?" Spencer followed up."No, and I was like, ‘What does that mean?’ I think just because we share our lives and we produce our own lives, but I don’t know if that's what that means," Paul said, after sharing that she didn't know "why" or for "how long" production on Mormon Wives would be paused.

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE on Monday, March 16, that there is an ongoing investigation into Paul and Mortensen. The DCPD spokesperson also said that "allegations have been made in both directions,” referring to the former couple, and confirmed that "contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th."

The reports come days after the fourth season of Mormon Wives dropped on Hulu on March 12. The reality show has been documenting the rocky relationship between Paul and Mortensen, with whom she shares 1-year-old son Ever, since its debut in 2024.A source close to Paul denied to PEOPLE that she was "violent" with Mortensen during the altercation, stating at the time that the reality star remains "focused" on her upcoming Bachelorette premiere, which airs on ABC on Sunday, March 22.Last night, Paul broke her silence on the shocking headlines that had been circling, telling PEOPLE exclusively at a press preview for her upcoming season of The Bachelorette on Tuesday, March 17 in N.Y.C. that her "heart hurts."

"Just the timing is hard, and it's a big deal. I feel like every premiere that I've experienced, I've never enjoyed fully, so this is another one... It's extremely hard, and it took everything to get me here today."

"It's just heavy. It's a heavy time, and it's unfortunate," she continued. "I'm struggling for sure, but also at the same time I feel like if I don't show up, then I'm just giving these opportunities away and not enjoying what we've worked on and something super exciting that's coming. I just feel like it was the right thing to do... show up even though it's hard."While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter at the same event, Paul also shared where she currently stands with the other women on Mormon Wives, after sources told PEOPLE that the cast was distancing themselves from the Bachelorette lead amid the situation.

“From my end, I’ve always been good with all of them,” Paul told the outlet. “I mean, I think we’ve kind of seen how I am very graceful with all the girls, even at their darkest and hardest times. So for me, I feel like the same thing, just with all of them to this day. I have nothing against any of them. So if they have any hesitancy or have an issue with me, that is, you know, their prerogative, not mine.”

Reps for Paul, Mortensen, ABC and Hulu have not commented to PEOPLE on the allegations. In 2023, Paul was arrested for alleged domestic violence following an argument with Mortensen. She faced child abuse charges after she was accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that allegedly hit her daughter. Paul later clarified that the charges “were all dropped."
