Iconic actor Stellan Skarsgard gave fans a hopeful update on his health three years after suffering a stroke.
"I’m good," Skarsgard, 74, told People at the Los Angeles premiere of Neon’s Sentimental Value on November 5.
Despite his good health, the Good Will Hunting star explained that he has trouble memorizing his lines and has transitioned to using an earpiece during filming saying it's "not as easy as you’d think."
"It sounds like, 'Oh, yeah. He just listens to his dialogue and assesses it,'" he told the outlet. "But it's because you have to do … The rhythm of the scene has to be as if he wasn't there, the voice in the ear."
He continued, "So he has to say his lines very fast and very neutral and on top of my coworker's lines. So it's a little special work, but it works."
Skarsgard suffered a stroke back in 2022, between filming Dune and Dune: Part 2.
He opened up to Vulture in October, revealing he is "not afraid of dying, but I am afraid of not being capable of living."
"It was perfect timing," he said of his health crisis. "Suddenly, I can’t come up with names. I can’t follow a thought or make an argument that spans several sentences that gets to the point […] That is extremely frustrating. But on the other hand, I’m alive. I can work."
According to the Pirates of the Caribbean star, he "didn't have time" to get used to his new earpiece.
"I had one Dune left and one Andor left when I got the stroke, so I had to learn fast," he told People.
