Robert Wagner is honoring his late wife Natalie Wood.
On Dec. 28, Wagner, 95, posted to Instagram to honor the anniversary of his first wedding to Wood. Alongside a photo from the wedding, he wrote, âRemembering this special day 68 years ago, when Natalie and I said âI do.â Happy Anniversary, Nat. More than love!â
Wagner married Wood, who died in 1981 at the age of 43, for the first time on Dec. 28, 1957. They divorced in 1962, and Wagner was married to Marion Marshall from 1963 to 1971, when they divorced. He and Wood remarried in 1972, and they welcomed daughter Courtney two years later.

They were together until Woodâs death in 1981. She drowned after taking part in a boat trip with to Californiaâs Catalina Island with Wagner, alongside her Brainstorm costar Christopher Walken and their longtime skipper, Dennis Davern. Woodâs death was originally ruled an âaccidental drowning.â
In 2011, Davern claimed that Wagner and Wood had been fighting before her death, and the case was reopened. Wagner was named "more of a person of interestâ in relation to the death. However, in May 2022, the actor was cleared of involvement by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

After Woodâs death, Wagner became the guardian of Natasha Gregson, Woodâs daughter with producer Richard Gregson so that she could be raised with her sister Courtney as well as Katie, Wagnerâs daughter with his second wife, Marion Marshall.
Wagner also honored Wood on Nov. 29 this year, the 44th anniversary of her death. âThinking of Nat today,â he wrote. âHer warmth, beauty, and love remain with us through our children and grandchildren. Forever missed, forever cherished. More than love.â
Back in 2020, Natasha opened up about her mom in the HBO documentary Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind and her memoir More Than Love. In an interview with Good Morning America, Natasha opened up about asking Wagner about Natalieâs death on camera.

"It was, you know, my heart was beating a bit, because obviously he and I have spoken about that but never on camera," Natasha said.
"He regrets that she died," she said of her father. "To me, what the culprit that night was was the alcohol. Had that not been a factor, I think maybe things would have turned out a little differently, but I feel closure about that night."
In the book and film, Natasha examined her motherâs death and why she believes her mother had drank too much the night of her death, slipped on the boat and fell into the water. She wrote in the memoir that she âhad to make peace" about never knowing the circumstances of her motherâs death, and that she wishes she wishes "others could do the same.â
"Iâm hoping that with the documentary we can focus on her life," she said on GMA. "I think if she were alive today, sheâd be on the forefront of equal pay for women, sheâd be on the forefront fighting for equal right for the LGBT community. She was so ahead of her time in so many ways."
Wagner wrote in his 2016 memoir I Loved Her in the Movies: Memories of Hollywoodâs Legendary Actresses, âWhen Natalie died, I thought my life was over. Luckily I had the help of a great many people who loved her and who loved me as well.â He credited his children and friends for helping him get back on his âfeet.â
