Reba McEntire shared a wedding timeline update in a new interview with PEOPLE on Nov. 10

Linn proposed to McEntire on Christmas Eve in 2024, and news of the Happy's Place costars' engagement broke in September 2025

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are slowly but surely heading toward the altar.

During an interview with PEOPLE at The Paley Center for Media's Paley Honors Gala in Beverly Hills, California, on Monday, Nov. 10, McEntire, 70, shared how wedding planning is going with her fiancé and Happy's Place costar, 68.

"We’re totally enjoying being engaged," the Reba alum exclusively tells PEOPLE. "Have no idea when we're going to set a date. Work comes first, so we'll see."

Even though this will be the first wedding for Linn, who has never been married unlike McEntire who was previously married to Charlie Battles and Narvel Blackstock, the couple isn't planning a huge ceremony.

"We're very low-key," McEntire says. "We'll have friends and family and have a great time."

Right now, the pair are still soaking in their engagement bliss.

"We're in the fun [phase]. We love each other, respect each other, love to hang out," McEntire says. "We're best friends. It's perfect. I'm really grateful God kept him for the last."

The bride-to-be says Linn teases she "saved the best for last." The actor popped the question at their Tennessee ranch on Christmas Eve last year, presenting McEntire with a rose gold ring featuring black diamonds.

"He had it designed from a jewelry store in Austin, Texas. She made my Longhorn necklaces also," McEntire explains. "He just knew that about me. I'm not a big diamond girl."

News of the couple's engagement didn't break until Sept. 14 this year. PEOPLE confirmed that the Happy's Place stars — who first met in the 1990s but didn’t begin dating until 2020 — had gotten engaged after an E! News reporter referred to them as fiancés on the 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet.

In October, McEntire told PEOPLE that her future husband chose to keep their engagement a secret due to the wildfires that devastated the Los Angeles area earlier this year in January.

"We were going to make the announcement when we got back to L.A. in January, and the fires happened. It wasn't appropriate," she said, adding that "the time never presented itself until the Emmys when it just happened."

At the time, McEntire said she and Linn are in no rush to tie the knot.

"I asked him, 'Well, when do you want to do this?' He said, 'Let's have fun with the engagement time.' So we haven't set a date or anything. We're just enjoying each other," she shared.

Reflecting on her relationship with Linn, McEntire told PEOPLE, "I've never been loved by a man like Rex Linn. Rex is a very tender-hearted man, and I just love him with all my heart. He's a good guy. Real bashful though."
