Prince William may be unable to forgive his younger brother Prince Harry for his previous criticisms of the Firm, but sources suggest he could back his father King Charles in pursuing reconciliation with the duke.

While William, 44, hasn't encountered his estranged brother recently, the monarch met with his youngest son just weeks ago.

Throughout recent years, the King has had several meetings with Harry during the duke's visits to the UK from his American residence, though tensions are thought to have persisted.

This stems from Harry's highly publicized critiques of royal life, featured on Netflix, in media interviews, and in his explosive 2023 memoir Spare.

Nevertheless, indications suggest the King may be moving toward forgiving his youngest son.

This has been demonstrated by the fact that following their recent reunion, the monarch has reportedly extended an invitation to Harry to stay at Buckingham Palace during his September visit.

An accommodation offer was presented to Harry in July for his previous visit, though the duke's delayed response led to the invitation being rescinded.

While William may not endorse his father's gesture toward Harry, sources believe he could ultimately support it, as he prioritizes doing what serves the monarchy's best interests.

In this instance, that could involve the King being perceived as maintaining positive relations with his youngest son following years of strain.

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital: "William believes the monarchy must be seen to do the right thing, even when it's painful.

"From what I understand, he felt his father didn't handle that firmly enough. He also believes in protecting it by drawing hard lines. But he's not the king yet."

Although William may back his father's approach, it is thought that he has little desire to reconcile with his brother Harry.

This stems from reports that the Prince of Wales struggles to forgive easily, and Harry's conduct over recent years has likely left William deeply skeptical of his younger brother's intentions.
