Queen Letizia of Spain experimented with a new hairstyle during her latest tiara moment
Like Kate Middleton has done in recent years, the Queen wore her hair loose with her glamorous headpiece
Letizia also recycled a previously worn dress, a move also done by the Princess of Wales on many occasions
Queen Letizia of Spain is switching up her tiara style, and she may have gotten some inspiration from Kate Middleton.
King Felipe, 57, and his wife, 53, hosted the Sultan of Oman for a glamorous gala dinner at Madrid’s Royal Palace on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Attendees dressed to the nines for the regal occasion, including a ball gown topped with a tiara for Queen Letizia.
Letizia has been sporting tiaras since her 2004 wedding day, but she usually pairs the headpieces with an elegant updo. For her latest gala, she styled the Cartier Loop Tiara with her hair worn down with waves.

The new hairstyle is reminiscent of how Princess Kate, 43, has worn her hair with tiaras for state banquets in recent years.
Like Queen Letizia, the Princess of Wales primarily wore her hair up for such occasions. In December 2022, however, she first let her hair down with the Lotus Flower Tiara at a Buckingham Palace reception.

Since then, she's played around with different loose styles, including bouncy curls for the state dinner hosting U.S. President Donald Trump in September.
Queen Letizia's Cartier Loop Tiara is rich with history. It originally belonged to Queen Maria Christina of Habsburg-Lorraine, created in 1886. It's been passed down in the Spanish royal family since.
In another move straight out of the playbook of Princess Kate and many other royal women, Queen Letizia recycled her blue gown for the dinner. The dress, by The 2nd Skin Co. and featuring bow details on the long sleeves, was previously worn by Letizia for a 2024 dinner in Amsterdam — where she also rocked the same tiara.

Princess Kate is known for recycling favorite pieces from her wardrobe as well. She has also worn the same dress and tiara combination, including pairing Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara with a pink sequin gown by Jenny Packham for Jordan's royal wedding banquet and the Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace, both in 2023.
Queen Letizia and King Felipe are hosting the Sultan of Oman in Spain for a state visit, which was postponed from earlier in the year due to the death of his mother-in-law.
