Project Runway fans are sharing their disgruntled reactions to the showās returning judge Law Roach after season 22 debuted on screens last month.
While the fashion competition is fierce, the judging panel on Project Runway may be fiercer with the addition of celebrity stylist Roach, who has styled A-listers, including Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Celine Dion, and Tom Holland. Roach joined the show as a judge for season 21 and returned for season 22, which began airing on July 9.
Fans of the show have shared their strong opinions toward Roach as a judge on the show on social media, with some calling his critiques āplain meanā and others saying they want to āstop watchingā because of him. This comes after Oscars fans branded Law Roach unrecognizable when he showed off a new look.

Roach, who calls himself an āimage architect,ā is facing backlash on a Project Runway Reddit thread titled, āI Hate Law Roach As a Judge.ā
āI've had enough,ā the original poster (OP) wrote. āI watch him on Drag Race too, and his critiques are just plain mean. They're hardly ever constructive. I literally never want to hear him speak again.ā
The OPās post has received over 500 upvotes and nearly 200 comments, as Project Runway fans question the delivery of Roachās fashion judgments on the show.
āAgreed. I honestly want to stop watching after last episode,ā one user commented. āHe was so incredibly mean and condescending to Aaron and Joseph. I donāt want to watch people being belittledā¦. I turned my tv off feeling sad! Like thatās not how a show should make you feel.ā

Others in the thread chimed in that they will also stop watching the show because of Roachās āmeanā criticisms.
āI turned it off feeling really sad and icky. I made the decision to stop watching after last episode and i can feel thatās the right one for me,ā said another Reddit user.
āThereās often a villain judge on these type of shows,ā another user pointed out before clarifying, āBut if youāre going to be a mean a--hole, you should at least provide constructive criticism and be an expert in the field to warrant the ego.ā
When Roach first joined Project Runway, users in the same subreddit raised their issues with his judging technique, claiming he was a ādisastrous addition to judges Panel" at the time.

Roach has certainly made a name for himself outside of styling high-profile celebrities, as he has been a judge on several reality show competitions, including RuPaulās Drag Race, HBOās competition show Legendary, and Project Runway.
Some users in the Reddit thread point out an issue with how the judges are selected, noting that there are no fashion designers on the judging panel.
āItās ridiculous that there isnāt a designer as a judge. All we hear about is the styling, not the construction of the garments,ā one user fumed.
The current seasonās judging panel is made up of fashion stylist Roach, Elleās editor in chief Nina Garcia, models Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum. Christian Siriano, the season 4 winner and renowned fashion designer, serves as the showās mentor.
