Scott Hoying revealed to PEOPLE the one thing that he and his husband, Mark Hoying, have to do before welcoming their first baby, a daughter, via surrogate this summer
The couple also joked that, after watching the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, they expect their daughter “to live a double life as a pop star and a normal ordinary girl”

Scott Hoying and Mark Hoying still have to get some things in order before their daughter’s arrival this summer.
While attending the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premiere in Los Angeles on March 23, the couple told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that they have one big goal they want to accomplish before welcoming their first baby.
“Our biggest goal right now is to pick a name because we have been through, no joke, probably like a gajillion names,” Mark, 34, said. “But, like, we can't decide.”
While Scott, 34, added that they still have to “practice swaddling” and “changing diapers,” he emphasized that they simply “can’t wait” to meet their bundle of joy and “see her personality flourish.”

After all, Mark has already declared that they will be playing “all the Hannah Montana reruns” for their daughter, after which Scott quipped, “She’s going to live a double life as a pop star and a normal ordinary girl.”
The Pentatonix singer and his husband, who tied the knot in July 2023 during a romantic seaside wedding, shared that they were expecting their first baby together on Oct. 14.

"The moment we found out we’re going to be dads,” Scott wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the two gasping at the news before sharing an emotional embrace. “We’re having a baby🥹🤍.”

Scott also publicly announced the news during an episode of Dancing with the Stars while dedicating that week’s dance to his husband.
“I feel like he’s just changed my life in so many ways,” Scott told Extra TV at the time. “I’m so in love and we just celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary. I’ve written so many songs about him and so I really just wanted to dance to a song and have him there.”
During practice, the couple surprised Scott's dance partner Rylee Arnold with a more personal reveal, after which she couldn’t help but squeal while jumping up and down with joy.
"I'm so excited to raise a family with him," Scott said. "I just feel like we're really, really lucky."
