A petition encouraging Immigration and Customs Enforcement to deport Nicki Minaj has garnered over 53,000 signatures in response to the rapper's recent endorsement of the Trump Administration.
The Change.org petition calls on the public to urge immigration authorities to review her legal status and criticize her "outdated and harmful notions" toward the LGBTQ community. The organizer condemned Minaj's remarks during a panel with Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest conference in Phoenix on Dec. 21, where she said "boys will be boys and there's nothing wrong with that."
The petition said the "Superbass" artist, 43, was once a "beacon of hope" for many who now feel "abandoned by her shift in values."
"These statements aren't just insensitive; they undermine the very foundations of a community that looked up to her for advocacy and understanding," the page's description reads. "Her public platform carries weight and responsibility, and her recent statements are a stark contrast to the solidarity she once showed, leaving many feeling deflated and disillusioned."

USA TODAY has reached out to Minaj's representatives for comment.
"Deporting Nicki Minaj back to Trinidad would serve as a reminder that public figures need to be accountable for their words and the broader impact they have on diverse communities. It's not just about one person's fall from grace; it's about holding everyone to a standard of compassion and consistency, especially when they possess significant influence," the petition's description reads.

Is Nicki Minaj a US citizen?
In a 2024 livestream, Minaj shared she was not a U.S. citizen. She moved here at the age of 5, according to Vibe. And in 2018, the rapper had opened up about being an immigrant in 2018 while criticizing President Donald Trump's policies during his first White House term.
"I came to this country as an illegal immigrant @ 5 years old. I can't imagine the horror of being in a strange place & having my parents stripped away from me at the age of 5," Minaj wrote on Instagram in June of that year. "This is so scary to me. Please stop this. Can you try to imagine the terror & panic these kids feel right now? Not knowing if their parents are dead or alive, if they’ll ever see them again."
How does Nicki Minaj feel about Trump?
However, ever since, Minaj has changed her tune about Trump and his political views. During a panel with Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika, Minaj shared she now has "the utmost respect and admiration for our president."
"I don't even know if he knows this, but he has given so many people hope that there's a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact," Minaj said.
In December, she also sharply criticized California Gov. Gavin Newsom on X in response to the Democrat recently expressing support for transgender children. "Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids," she wrote Dec. 12 on X. "Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids."
