Nick Reiner isn’t getting much love from the outside world. The son of Rob and Michele Reiner is currently on trial for first-degree murder following his parents’ stabbing deaths in December.

The filmmaker, who has been candid in the past about his problems with drug addiction, was diagnosed with schizophrenia prior to the tragedy. While he’s locked up, only one person has come to visit him in prison, his lawyer Kimberly Greene. Nick is currently being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.

It doesn’t appear that many people close to Nick believe in his innocence. We’ve not heard anyone publicly say whether they believe he’s guilty or not. However, the fact that his attorney is the only one who’s seen him seems pretty telling about what others feel towards him. The Daily Mail reports that Kimberly is the only one who’s seen Nick. They also claim that he’s been served horrible meals and may be close to cracking.

Following his arrest, Nick hired prominent defense attorney Alan Jackson. However, he resigned from the case, with Kimberly taking over. Alan has said that he believes his ex-client is innocent.

In the hours leading up to Rob and Michele’s murders, it was reported that Nick and his father had a heated argument. This apparently took place at a Conan O’Brien Christmas party. Nick entered a not guilty plea to the first-degree murder charges against him. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office deemed Rob and Michele’s deaths to be from sharp force injuries.

Neither of Nick’s two siblings, Romy and Jake have been to any of their brother’s court proceedings thus far. Romy is the one who found their parents dead at their Brentwood home in mid-December.
