New York Giants signing WR Braxton Berrios

The New York Giants have agreed to sign veteran wide receiver and return specialist Braxton Berrios to a one-year deal, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The addition is widely viewed as a move to bolster the return game and provide depth at wide receiver after injuries to key players, including returner Gunner Olszewski.

Berrios, 30, has established himself as one of the NFL’s most dependable return specialists. The former Miami Hurricanes product earned first-team All-Pro honors as a punt returner with the New York Jets in 2021 and has consistently delivered explosive plays in the return game throughout his career. While he also contributes as a reliable slot receiver, his proven ability in special teams makes him a natural replacement for Olszewski.

Originally selected by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft, Berrios won a Super Bowl LIII ring with New England before thriving with the Jets. He has since spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans.

In his NFL career, Berrios has amassed 140 receptions for 1,360 yards and six touchdowns while excelling on returns.

The Giants worked out Berrios and several other receivers, including JuJu Smith-Schuster and Odell Beckham Jr., on Monday as they look to strengthen both their receiving corps and special teams units ahead of the 2026 season. This low-risk signing adds experienced depth and versatility during organized team activities.
