In the 1980s, Francis began working with KISS and served as head of security for many years. In addition to KISS, he also worked with Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin, Paul Rodgers, Bon Jovi and Cher throughout the years.

Reps for KISS have not yet responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

Francis' death comes just days after KISS co-founder Ace Frehley died at 74 on Thursday, Oct. 16.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE that day, his family said the rocker died in Morristown, N.J. after a recent fall at his home.

“We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth," the statement read.

It continued: "We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!"

Gene Simmons and Stanley, 73, shared a joint statement about Frehley with PEOPLE on Oct. 16,

“We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley," they said at the time. "He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history."

Added Simmons, 76, and Stanley: “He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy,” they added before sending condolences to Frehley’s estranged wife Jeanette Trerotola, his daughter Monique Frehley and “all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”

Prior to his death, TMZ had reported that Frehley was on life support due to a brain bleed from a fall several weeks before.
