Kid Rock claims he wasn’t lip-syncing at Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show.
The singer, 54, headlined the conservative group’s alternative programming to the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on Sunday, Feb. 8. The show was announced after Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny was named as the headliner at the major sporting event.
Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, was accused of lip-syncing at the Turning Point USA show while singing "Bawitdaba" from his Devil Without a Cause album.

He addressed the commentary on the Feb. 10 broadcast of Fox News' The Ingraham Angle when host Laura Ingraham asked him about the performance, which she described as "out of whack."
"It was out of sync," Kid Rock claimed. "Actually, just to have some fun with the haters. I can’t answer all the trolls, but it’s going to be some fun. My DJ, who actually raps that song with me, he was not lit up."
"He’s coming to Nashville tonight, flying in. We’re going to do that live in my living room and I’m going to post it tomorrow to show people exactly how this works," he continued.
Kid Rock continued to claim if he was lip-syncing, like his critics say, "It would’ve been super easy to sync it up if it was prerecorded."
"I’m jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey, rapping my song, and I’m taking breaths, and my DJ is filling in the other parts of it… I even told them when I saw the rough cut, I was like, 'You guys got to work on that sync. It’s off,'" the musician said.
"It was just a syncing issue that they had, and I know they tried to get it right. It was very difficult," he added.

Turning Point USA advertised their halftime show as a "family-friendly, values-driven" event "created for viewers seeking uplifting, patriotic entertainment." Kid Rock, a Donald Trump supporter, performed alongside country singers Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert and Gabby Barrett.
The New York Times reported that alternative halftime show livestream peaked at roughly 6.1 million viewers. As of the time of publication, the uploaded video recording of the live performance on YouTube has racked up about 21 million views.
The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show featuring Bad Bunny will likely exceed that by a significant margin, based on prior year's figures. A final tally of viewership has not yet been released, but the uploaded footage of the performance shared by the NFL on YouTube has nearly 55 million views as of the time of publication.
Per Apple, there was a seven-fold spike in Bad Bunny's listeners directly after his performance, and "within the first 48 hours, the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Press Conference with Bad Bunny became the most watched in Super Bowl history with more than 63 million views across an array of related content, including the live stream and social clips."
