Kathie Lee Gifford has become a fan-favorite Hollywood personality over the years, but the former Live with Regis and Kathie Lee star has left fans confused by her latest social media photo.
Gifford, 72, took to Instagram on Monday, Nov. 10, with a show of support for longtime friend Kris Jenner after attending her star-studded 70th birthday bash over the weekend.
"So happy to be able to get to California a day early to get to spend private time with my @krisjenner. And then to be able to be in the car with her on the way to her party surrounded by her closest family and friends just all made me extraordinarily happy," the "He Saw Jesus" singer penned in her social media caption. "I love you my friend and I always will."
In the snapshot, the two pals smiled widely while gathering close to one another. Gifford donned a velour black long-sleeved dress with silver floral detailing at the neckline.
The lady of the hour, for her part, sizzled for the James Bond 007-themed event in a strapless, ruffled red gown, accessorized with armpit-length gloves and dazzling gemstone earrings.
But it wasn't the chic outfits that caught fans' attention—it was the perception that a friendship between two women whose beliefs are seemingly so different could make sense.

Notably, the former Today show star's loving caption left folks who were unaware of the relationship scratching their heads, as people quickly took to the comments section with questions and critiques.
One person said it seemed like "The most unusual friendship…" which prompted a direct response in agreement: "definitely! Makes zero sense."
"That’s exactly what I was thinking 🤔," a second person replied.
Another echoed that sentiment, writing, "Never understood this," as someone else chimed in with, "I did not see this friendship on my BINGO card and I can only imagine that KLG is a really really good loyal person to have in your circle."

Kris held an extravagant party in celebration of her 70th year on Saturday, Nov. 8, attended by the likes ofStevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Chris Rock, Ciara, Meghan Trainor, Paris Hilton, Justin Bieber, and, of course, her daughters, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner.

According to Today.com, Gifford is Kendall and Kylie's godmother, and she and Kris have been close for decades.
"I would tell them, first of all, 'Stay close to God'," the TV personality said in 2020 of the advice she'd give her famous goddaughters on staying level-headed while navigating being in the spotlight. "I would tell them to be true to themselves and that's about it. That's what I'd tell anybody."
