Julia Fox is giving the corporate life a shot

The actress stars in the debut episode of InStyle's new social series, The Boss, and steps into her role as "temporary permanent ambassador of slayage" for New York Fashion Week

The outlet's new series joins "The Intern" franchise, which features celebrities and influencers trying to make it as an InStyle employee

New York Fashion Week is here, and Julia Fox is ready to work — or shall we say werk.

The actress is like we've never seen her before in a new InStyle series called The Boss, but she's no traditional stickler for the rules. In this new gig, Fox is the office's "temporary permanent ambassador of slayage," and she's inspiring her team to embrace bold, fabulous fashion.

Hired by Editor-in-Chief Sally Holmes, the episode plays out with the actress getting her editors for a week's worth of shows and into a chic state of mind. The debut episode also features familiar faces from the current cast of RuPaul's Drag Race.

InStyle's The Boss is a mockumentary-style series that invites celebrity and fashion guest experts to take charge of the office. But their actions and advice quickly turn into chaos, critique, and comedy.

It follows the outlet's other series, The Intern, which has featured everyone from Nick Jonas to dynamic influencer duo a Twink and a Redhead (aka Ashley Gill and Grant Gibbs).

Fox sat down with InStyle back in 2024 and opened up about her multi-hyphenate career.

"It's hard to decide. It's everything. I want to do everything. I want to write more books, I want to write movies. I still want to act, I want to do my fashion stuff. I want to do more art. I want to have more art shows again, I want to put out more art books. I am an ADHD/autistic cusp. So, for me, it's like the grass is always greener, what I'm doing is never enough, there has to be more. I'm never satisfied. I want to do everything, but also I want to do nothing at all. I hate commitment; I don't want to commit to one thing. I want to be able to dabble."
