Judge Jackie Glass has died at age 70
The former host of Swift Justice rose to national fame in 2008 when she sentenced O.J. Simpson to 22 years in prison for armed robbery at a Las Vegas hotel

Judge Jackie Glass, the former host of the courtroom TV show Swift Justice, has died. She was 70.
Glass’ daughter, Rachel Wolfson, shared the news of her death in an emotional social media post on Friday, Aug. 28.
“Rip my rock, I don’t know how I’ll do this life without you,” Wolfson wrote on Facebook alongside a photo of her and her mom. “I love you so much mommy Jackie Glass, I’ll see you again someday.”
TMZ was the first to report the news, stating that Glass died in Las Vegas.

The former judge, who spent eight years on Nevada’s Eight Judicial District Court before retiring in 2011, made national headlines in 2008 when she sentenced O.J. Simpson to 33 years in prison for armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel. He was later released on parole in 2017 before dying of cancer in April 2024.
Three years after the sentencing, Glass became the host of the small claims court show Swift Justice, taking over for Georgia prosecutor Nancy Grace during its second season. She hosted the reality show until it ended in April 2012.
Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley shared a tribute to Glass on social media.
“I am heartbroken and feel like I have lost a sister with the passing of Jackie Glass,” she wrote on X. “We started practicing law close to the same time and over the last 50 years I have been amazed to see everything she accomplished.”

Glass is survived by her husband, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson, and their two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca.
“The city of Las Vegas is sending good thoughts and love to Steve Wolfson, our colleague Municipal Court Judge Rebecca Wolfson and all of Jackie’s friends and family,” Berkley continued.

Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto also reflected on the tragic news and sent her condolences to Glass’ family.
“Judge Glass was an inspiring role model who spent her life fighting for justice for others,” she wrote on X. “Her light was extinguished too soon.”

One day after Glass’ death, Rachel reflected on her “first day on earth” without her mom.
“I tried to catch the sunrise today, and I’ll try again tomorrow, you loved sunrises,” she wrote on Facebook. “I made protein pancakes for dad, I heated them up perfectly just like you would. I can hear your voice telling me ‘it’s ok Rachel, im ok’ you were always so strong.’ ”
“I’ve never met anyone as strong as you. I’ve only seen you cry once and that’s when nana sandy passed,” she continued. “I’m going to continue to make you proud. I will keep going because that’s what you’d want me to do. I will look for you in the trees, sunrises and sunsets. I will hike where you hiked. I will take care of people just like you did.”
