Hilary Duff paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend and Lizzie McGuire guest star Aaron Carter on stage at a recent concert.

Duff sweetly honored Carter four years after his death in 2022 at age 34.

Carter appeared on a memorable Lizzie McGuire episode on the Disney Channel, and the pair eventually dated as child stars.

Hilary Duff has honored her late ex-boyfriend, fellow former child star, and Lizzie McGuire special guest Aaron Carter four years after his death.

The 38-year-old singer-actress took the stage Sunday night in Philadelphia on her Lucky Me tour, wearing a white shirt with Carter’s name and image printed on it, as a sweet tribute to the late “Aaron’s Party” performer, who died in 2022 at age 34.

As child entertainers both coming up in Hollywood at the same time, Duff and Carter were romantically linked from 2000 until around 2003.

Carter famously appeared in a 2001 episode of Duff’s beloved Disney Channel sitcom Lizzie McGuire titled “Aaron Carter’s Coming to Town.”

The episode’s plot revolved around Lizzie (Duff) and friends Miranda (LaLaine) and Gordo (Adam Lamberg) attempting to sneak backstage at a local Carter concert. At the end of the episode, Carter and Lizzie share a kiss.

Duff has long been open about her relationship with Carter, telling the Las Culturistas podcast earlier this year that a psychic identified her during an anonymous phone call, after the medium said Carter had appeared to her in a vision.

“She doesn’t know who you are when you call, and eventually she figured it out, and she was like, ‘Are you
 Hilary Duff?’” the actress recalled.

“She said, ‘Well, people are gonna start showing up for you. And there is someone here: Aaron,’” Duff told hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. “I was like, oh no, my heart. I was like, ‘Oh my God.’”

She continued, recalling, “I was like, ‘
Is it Aaron Carter?’ And she was like, ‘Sure is! What the hell is he doing here?’ And I was like, ‘Well that’s my childhood boyfriend and that would make sense to me.’ And she’s like, ‘Are you Hilary Duff?’”

Following Carter’s 2022 death, ruled at the time by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner as an accidental drowning effects of alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax, and inhaling compressed air, Duff paid tribute to him online.

“For Aaron- I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world,” she wrote after Carter died, adding, “You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent... boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy.”
