Our lips are not sealed. Millennials are *screaming* because our Lizzie McGuire, our Sam (Cinderella) Montgomery, our Isabella Parigi popstar from Italy, is giving us what dreams are made of.

Who's that girl? It's Hilary Duff—and she's no longer so yesterday. She's coming clean with her just-dropped music video for her new single "Mature," and it's making forever-fans want to do a crazy dance.

Duff’s new song “Mature” is a coming-of-age anthem for adulthood that's somehow simultaneously bringing out the teenager in us all. It's got us traveling 20 years back in time to 2005's "Wake Up," in which Duff foreshadows, "I know I make mistakes, I'm living life day-to-day; it's never really easy, but it's okay."

Now, everybody's watching like it's some kind of show because her new single's lyrics describe those younger years—the blissful unawareness of adolescence and the meaningless mistakes that have made meaningful impacts on who she'd go on to become.

In her new tongue-in-cheek composition, Duff reflects on a past experience, "a brief time with a lover that left [her] with so many questions," she writes in her Instagram announcement.

"'Mature' speaks to my mature self calling my not-so-mature self on the phone many years ago, and she’s letting her know we landed softly,'" she writes.

Duff's lyrics give love to her younger self, embrace the journey of self-discovery, and divulge the depth of even the most mindless moments and memories that have the potential to shape us as people—as "mature" adults.

But she's not claiming to have it all figured out. Duff's song is a symphony of self-assuredness and awareness that growth is ongoing. Her song makes the statement that maturity, ultimately, has nothing to do with age.

Even if Duff doesn't have everything together today, her fans certainly still see her as a role model.

"Hilary was my biggest role model growing up, and I can’t believe I’m sitting here at 30 years old watching a new music video and still looking up to her," one commented on the YouTube video.

Many more fans are relating to the song in their own ways.

"For the ones who bent themselves to shine and walked a tightrope to feel loved—and who have finally made peace with who they used to be—look at how far we've come," one fan wrote. "This song is for us."
