- Apple Martin, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, is set to make her acting debut.

- Martin will appear opposite Tony Hale and Beverly D'Angelo in the first film from Nancy Meyers since 2015's *The Intern*.

- The 22-year-old Vanderbilt graduate has previously worked as a model, appearing in campaigns for brands like Gap and Chloé.

The apple doesn't fall far after all.

Apple Martin, the daughter of Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and Grammy winner Chris Martin, is set to make her acting debut. The 22-year-old has snagged a highly coveted spot in the cast of Nancy Meyers' long-awaited return to the big screen, ** has confirmed.

The as-yet-untitled film, previously dubbed *Paris Paramount*, will now feature Martin in an ensemble that also added *Veep *star Tony Hale and *National Lampoon's Vacation *legend Beverly D'Angelo.

The next film from the beloved American auteur will close the longest gap between any two features in her career. Prior to the Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway workplace dramedy *The Intern*, Meyers had only taken six years between two directorial efforts. But it's been 11 since *The Intern *hit theaters.

In the intervening years, speculation has run rampant about her much hoped-for return to feature filmmaking. Meyers herself cleared up some of the scuttlebutt in 2023, by sharing a quote from Ernst Lubitsch, an icon of studio-era comedies.

"There's been a lot written about my new film. 😵‍💫 Here's one thing I can easily clear up — and that's the title — PARIS PARAMOUNT," she wrote on Instagram. "It's from a quote by the brilliant and elegant comedy director (dare I say creator of the romantic comedy) Ernst Lubitsch. The movie is about a group of people making a film and the magic and mystery of what we do. As always, Lubitsch said it best."

The sardonic quotation reads as follows: "I've been to Paris, France and I've been to Paris, Paramount and frankly, I prefer Paris, Paramount."

Martin, Hale, and D'Angelo join an expansive ensemble that includes a number of A-listers, including Penélope Cruz, Jude Law, Owen Wilson, and Kieran Culkin.

Emma Mackey, of *Ella McCay *fame, was previously attached to star, but was replaced in March by Erin Doherty, who recently won an Emmy for her role in *Adolesence*.

Martin, meanwhile, boards the new Meyers project lacking any direct acting experience, but with a lifetime of on-set memories. Paltrow and Martin had their daughter in 2004, five years after Paltrow's Oscar win for *Shakespeare in Love*, but still at the height of her pre-Goop workhorse era, when she appeared in films like *Sylvia*, *Running With Scissors*, and *Two Lovers*.

A recent Vanderbilt graduate with a degree in Law, History and Society, Martin is best known independently as a model. This year, she was named the face of French fashion label Chloé's summer campaign, and previously collaborated with Gap and Chanel.

Warner Bros. has lined up Meyers' latest for release on Dec. 25, 2027.
