Dolly Parton’s heartfelt and final message to children has left conservatives emotional.
On August 31, Fox News reported on Parton's late note, which is included with the last book that the children will receive from her Imagination Library. The book-gifting program mailed free books to kids from birth until they began school. The late singer encouraged young, eager readers to dream big and learn as much as they can. The country music star asked only that they care for those who care for them.
Parton, 80, passed away following her brief battle with cancer on August 25, 2026. This came after the Dolly Parton estate announced a two-day Dollyfest to celebrate her legacy.

Parton wrote, "This may be your last book from my Imagination Library. But you have to promise me you will keep on reading.
"If you go to your local public library, you will find a great number of books just for kids your age. Every book is a treasure, and every time you open one up, you will meet new friends and take wonderful journeys to magical places.

She closed, "You are terrific, and remember, I will always love you."

Viewers took to social media after being moved by Parton's final words to your readers.
One person wrote, "That last book note is gonna hit hard for so many kids."
Another person added, "I know the note is meant for kids, but why am I the only adult here ugly-crying!"
A third wrote, "What a beautiful legacy. Beyond the music, Dolly Parton gave generations of children something priceless: the love of reading, the courage to dream, and the belief that they can make a difference. That kind of impact truly lives on."

Despite the support, there was a critic who shared, "Fox News is gonna try and rewrite Dolly's legacy... don't let them. She never agreed with fake Christians like the ones at Fox News!"
On August 25, Bryan Seaver broke the devastating news in an Instagram video.
Speaking directly to the camera in the brief clip, he said, "My name is Bryan Seaver, son of Cassie Parton, and I'm representing the Parton and Owens family today, announcing the passing of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean, Sister, Sis, Aunt Granny to one generation and Gigi to the next.

"This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality. As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven't truly felt it until now," he continued.
"It is an honor, an honor that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents, and countless others who have watched her and longed to meet her in the heavens," Seaver concluded.
