Fox News is being slammed on social media after it posted a lengthy birthday message for Meghan Markle.

The Fox News Entertainment official X account sent its well-wishes to the Duchess of Sussex as she turned 45 on Tuesday, Aug. 4. The message celebrated Markle's acting career, business projects, and the life she has built with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children.

The lengthy and complimentary Fox News post was questioned by social media users, who wondered why the outlet posted it in the first place. This comes after Meghan Markle splashed into her 45th birthday by jumping into a pool with a handful of balloons.

Fox News Entertainment posted on X on Tuesday: "Happy 45th birthday, Meghan Markle! From 'Suits' star to the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan has built a remarkable journey that's taken her from Hollywood to the world stage."

The birthday message continued, as Fox News Entertainment wrote, "Today, she's celebrating another year filled with new business ventures, creative projects, and family life with Prince Harry and their two children in California. Wishing the Duchess of Sussex a wonderful year ahead!"

The conservative outlet's social media team also included four pictures of Markle, one of which was of the Duchess and her husband, 41. While the post was complimentary toward the Suits actress, the reaction on social media was less so toward both Fox News and Markle.

One X user raged in a repost of Fox News' message, "What the f--k kind of post is this from FOX NEWS of all outlets????"

"They must be unwell to post something so pleasant. Wow!" another user responded

"They've probably been hacked," a second user quipped. A third user commented, "Lmao I thought the same!! And the long a-- paragraph about it too."

"I've been surprised by Fox recently," and "It's a nice gesture from FOX News Entertainment" were among other comments, while another user wrote, "Don't trust it even for 10 seconds."

The comments under Fox News Entertainment's post were more critical of Markle than the news outlet. One user wrote, "This is a stretch. Everything she touches fails," while a second user wrote, "There are 6 lies in this post alone..! Did Markle write it herself?"

"Fox is being nice. I don't know what's going on, but I like it," said another user.

Markle celebrated her 45th birthday by sharing two black-and-white photos on her Instagram page of her jumping into an outdoor pool while holding onto balloons.

"Thank you for the birthday love! [balloon emoji]" Markle captioned the post, as she was seen wearing sunglasses and a one-piece swimsuit, with her hair pulled back.

The Duchess of Sussex also posted two light-hearted videos on her Instagram story later in the day, one of which appeared to have been filmed by Prince Harry, as he could be heard in the background.

Markle appeared in the video dancing barefoot in the kitchen, wearing a "Happy Birthday" tiara, a white shirt with the words "It's Giving Mrs" stamped on the front, and white loose pants. The second video featured the couple's two dogs, a beagle and a black lab, joining in the birthday fun by wearing small birthday hats.
