Florida, Texas A&M pledges headline top 2027 SEC football commitments

While the Big Ten has become the conference to beat the last few years when it comes to winning championships, the SEC still reigns as king when it comes to recruiting,
Year in and year out, SEC programs land a majority of the nation's premier high school prospects with nearly every team ranking somewhere inside the top-30 nationally by the time each cycle ends.
The 2027 cycle is no different as nearly every SEC program has a player ranked somewhere in the top 100 nationally.
We've taken a look at the ACC , the Big Ten and the Big 12, so here's a look at the top senior commitment for every SEC program entering the 2026 high school football season.
Alabama: Elijah Haven
Position: Quarterback
High School: Dunham School (Baton Rouge, LA)
247Sports Ranking: No. 9 overall, No. 3 QB
Breakdown: Haven put up video game-like numbers during a state championship run that saw him throw for 3,931 yards and 62 touchdowns to go with 794 yards and 11 more touchdowns on the ground. He announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide over Georgia on April 25.
Arkansas: Keith Richmond
Position: EDGE
High School: Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, AL)
247Sports Ranking: No. 203 overall, No. 20 EDGE
Breakdown: Richmond is coming off of a junior season that saw him total 62 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and four forced fumbles. He announced his commitment to the Razorbacks on June 7.
Auburn: Isaac McNeil
Position: Linebacker
High School: Vigor (Mobile, AL)
247Sports Ranking: No. 62 overall, No. 4 LB
Breakdown: McNeil was one of the most efficient defensive players in Alabama last season, finishing his 15-game junior season with 92 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks on top of the offensive and special teams duties he also had to handle. He announced his commitment to Auburn on June 2.
Florida: Maxwell Hiller
Position: Offensive Tackle
High School: Coatesville (PA)
247Sports Ranking: No. 2 overall, No. 1 IOL
Breakdown: Every single school in the country wanted Hiller but he ultimately chose Gainesville as his future home on April 8. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, he has one of the highest upsides of any offensive line recruit in recent cycles.
Georgia: Kemon Spell
Position: Running Back
High School: McKeesport (PA)
247Sports Ranking: No. 10 overall, No. 1 RB
Breakdown: A former Penn State pledge, Spell decommitted from the Nittany Lions after James Franklin was fired and committed to Georgia on February 2. He played in nine games last season, rushing for 1,755 yards and 28 touchdowns to go along with a receiving touchdown and three special teams touchdowns.
Kentucky: Jake Nawrot
Position: Quarterback
High School: John Hersey (Arlington Heights, IL)
247Sports Ranking: No. 64 overall, No. 5 QB
Breakdown: Nawrot had an efficient junior campaign, completing 71% of his passes for 3,078 yards and 41 touchdowns while only throwing two interceptions. He committed to the Wildcats and new head coach Will Stein on April 12.
LSU: KJ Green
Position: EDGE
High School: Stephenson (Stone Mountain, GA)
247Sports Ranking: No. 5 overall, No. 2 EDGE
Breakdown: Green enjoyed a monster junior season, earning Region 5-AAA honors after racking up 129 tackles, 40 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He chose Lane Kiffin and the Tigers on June 7.
Mississippi State: Christian Alexander
Position: Running Back
High School: Rosa Fort (Tunica, MS)

Breakdown: Alexander ultimately chose to stay close to home with his commitment to the Bulldogs on April 16. They landed one of the state's best backs as he rushed for 1,354 yards and 21 touchdowns on 147 carries in only eight games last fall.
Missouri: Jack Brown
Position: Tight End
High School: Francis Howell Central (St. Charles, MO)
247Sports Ranking: No. 121 overall, No. 6 TE
Breakdown: Missouri emerged as a favorite in Brown's recruitment early in the year and he announced his commitment to the Tigers on March 17. 247Sports ranks him as the top player in Missouri for the 2027 class.
Oklahoma: Gabriel Osborne Jr.
Position: Cornerback
High School: Mustang (OK)
247Sports Ranking: No. 15 overall, No. 2 CB
Breakdown: As someone who is known for his defense, it was a massive in-state win for Brent Venables when Osborne announced his commitment to the Sooners on June 1. In 12 games he tallied 65 tackles, three tackles for loss and two interceptions.
Ole Miss: Mitchell Turner
Position: Defensive Lineman
High School: Louisville (MS)
247Sports Ranking: No. 47 overall, No. 4 DL
Breakdown: Pete Golding keeping one of the state's top defensive talents home was a massive win for the Rebels when Turner committed to Ole Miss on June 23. Turner had a monster junior season, totaling 103 tackles, 41 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks.
South Carolina: Joshua Dobson
Position: Cornerback
High School: Hough (Cornelius, NC)
247Sports Ranking: No. 67 overall, No. 8 CB
Breakdown: Dobson will play his senior season in North Carolina, but the South Carolina native committed to his home state Gamecocks on July 1. During his high school career, he’s found success playing all sides of the ball.
Tennessee: David Gabriel Georges
Position: Running Back
High School: Baylor (Chattanooga, TN)
247Sports Ranking: No. 11 overall, No. 2 RB
Breakdown: Josh Heupel landed his running back of the future in Gabriel Georges on July 22. A back-to-back Division II-AAA Mr. Football winner, Gabriel Georges rushed for close to 2,000 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior.
Texas A&M: Mark Matthews
Position: Offensive Tackle
High School: St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
247Sports Ranking: No. 3 overall, No. 1 OT
Breakdown: Matthews has long been regarded as one of the top offensive linemen in the country since he first stepped onto the field at the high school level. He committed to Texas A&M on May 15 and played a pivotal role in leading St. Thomas Aquinas on another state title run in 2025.
Texas: Ismael Camara
Position: Offensive Tackle
High School: Gilmer (TX)
247Sports Ranking: No. 13 overall, No. 2 OT
Breakdown: Camara made his own headlines on the Fourth of July when he announced his commitment to the Longhorns. Standing at 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds, Camara is one of the bigger linemen in the 2027 cycle.
Vanderbilt: Omarii Sanders
Position: Linebacker
High School: Franklin Road Academy (Nashville, TN)
247Sports Ranking: No. 46 overall, No. 1 LB
Breakdown: Clark Lea made Sanders a priority and despite other SEC programs trying to pry him away, he stuck to his commitment to the Commodores. He plays both sides of the ball catching 58 passes for 1,064 yards and 12 touchdowns at receiver while also totaling 73 tackles at linebacker.
