President Donald Trump has come under fire on social media after footage emerged showing him greeting members of the U.S. military while still wearing a golf glove during a weekend visit to New Jersey.
The video, which has been widely shared on Instagram and other social media platforms, shows Trump walking over to a group of uniformed service members gathered outside.
The president smiles, shakes hands with several troops and exchanges a few words with them as they thank him for his visit. Throughout the interaction, Trump keeps a white golf glove on his left hand, after a study showed the staggering amount Trump's golf hobby has cost taxpayers.

Trump attended the dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base honoring four U.S. service members who were killed in the Middle East before traveling to New Jersey.
He has been an avid golfer for decades, first taking up the game while attending Fordham University.

In the years before entering politics, he invested heavily in golf course development, opening his first course, Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 1999 before expanding his portfolio across the United States, Scotland, Ireland and the Middle East through the Trump Organization.
Today, the Trump Organization owns or operates more than a dozen golf properties worldwide, with many of them having hosted professional tournaments over the years.
Courses bearing Trump's name have staged PGA of America, LPGA and other high-profile events, although the PGA of America moved the 2022 PGA Championship away from Trump Bedminster following the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Trump has frequently described golf as one of his greatest passions. In his 2005 book 'The Best Golf Advice I Ever Received,' he wrote that the sport is "more than a game" and called it "a passion" for millions of people.

Former major champion Jack Nicklaus has also said Trump "loves the game of golf more than he loves money."
His love of the game has remained a constant feature of his time in office. According to public schedule tracking, Trump made dozens of visits to his golf clubs during the first year of his second term, continuing a pattern established during his first presidency when his golf outings frequently generated headlines.
The president has also used golf as a diplomatic and networking tool, playing rounds over the years with world leaders, business executives and professional athletes.
Most recently, England captain Harry Kane revealed that Trump invited him to play a round in Florida, describing the experience as "pretty surreal" while praising the president's golf game.
