Dave Franco sees his new title as PEOPLE's Sexiest Cat Dad in our 2025 Sexiest Man Alive Readers' Choice Poll as a serious honor.
During the Now You See Me: Now You Don't world premiere in New York City on Monday, Nov. 10, the Regretting You star, 40, opened up about the new influx of attention he's receiving with help from his felines, Max and Otis.
"What's wild is how many people bring it up. I'm very proud," he told PEOPLE. "I'm an outspoken cat lover. Shout out to my cats, Max and Otis, at home. I've peaked. I've peaked. It's all downhill from here."

Franco, who stars in the magic heist film franchise alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Isla Fisher, also spoke about how much he loves working on the movie series with the team, including newcomers Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, and Dominic Sessa.
"I've known the cast for nearly 15 years," the Together star shared. "I laugh more than any other set, and because of that, I would love to do these forever as long as people will let us. And then this new cast, they came in, they're all so talented, so sweet, so funny, and it was just such an integration, and now they're family too."

Franco announced his Sexiest Cat Dad status, a new category in the Sexiest Man Alive Reader's Choice Poll, on the Oct. 23 episode of The Tonight Show. During the segment, he shared his official acceptance speech, in which he said he had been mentally preparing for the honor for years.
"I feel like I have been silently campaigning for this my whole life," Franco said at the time. "I never realized how rare it was for a man to be obsessed with his cats until every journalist brought it up in every interview I've ever done."
The speech continued, "I, of course, have to thank Max and Otis. You guys — as if they're watching — make me laugh more than anyone on Earth. I gotta give a shout-out to my old cats, Harry and Arturo."
Other cat lovers included in the category were Kumail Nanjiani, Mark Ruffalo, and Myles Turner; however, other celebrity cat lovers spoke out about the results.

Rapper and actor MGK commented on The Tonight Show's Instagram video of the moment, "Whoa, I love you, Dave, but my 3 cats and I have something to say about this…" Celebrity chef Bobby Flay, pet parent to Stella and Canelo and the late cat Nacho, also commented, writing, "I'm literally devastated."
For 2025, the Sexiest Man Alive title went to Jonathan Bailey, who appeared on the cover of PEOPLE with his dog, Benson.
