Dakota Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffith, has entered the conversation surrounding the ongoing dispute between King Charles and Charles Spencer over the latter’s memoir. In the book titled “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,” Spencer makes serious allegations about the monarch in the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death. Although Griffith has long been a supporter of the British royal family, her recent actions appear to show support for Spencer amid the controversy.

Melanie Griffith showcased support for Charles Spencer amid his reported ongoing fight with King Charles. It’s reported that the Earl is facing backlash from British media tabloids and royal family supporters, following his explosive allegations against the monarch. Johnson’s mother liked a post on social media from PEOPLE, which featured Spencer’s quote. It read, “I feel Diana on my side.”

Meanwhile, she also recently commented on King Charles’ social media post, where he expressed gratitude for the exceptional treatment he received during his US trip. The caption read, “Farewell and thank you for the warmth of your welcome and the kind support you gave us throughout our first visit to the US as King and Queen, in this, your special anniversary year. We leave a piece of our behind and take a little of yours back home with us. Until the next time… God Bless America.” Griffith commented, “Elegant, Charming and heartwarming.”

One of the controversial statements that the memoir included was about then Prince Charles’ heated conversation with Princess Diana’s brother. He alleged that the monarch told him over the phone call, “We’ll forget her [Diana] soon enough.” Diana died on August 31, 1997, at the age of 36, after sustaining fatal injuries in a high-speed car crash in Paris.

Recently, Spencer revealed that he didn’t initially inform Harry and William about the memoir but did so at the same time as his sisters, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane. He also admitted that the royal brothers may have been concerned about how the monarch would be depicted in the book.
