Wynonna Judd is one of the latest members of the music industry to speak out about the death of The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir.

Weir, a guitarist, vocalist and one of the co-founders of the beloved jam band, died on Saturday, Jan. 10 after a battle with "underlying lung issues," his team announced on social media. The beloved music legend was 78.

Following the news of his death, tributes for Weir began pouring in online, including one heartfelt post from Judd, who was close friends with Weir.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Jan. 11, Judd shared a photo montage with some of her favorite memories of Weir, writing in her caption, "My heart is broken over this loss. To the world he was Bob (Bobby) Weir. To me… he was and will always be…MY “Sir” Robert Weir."

Judd, 61, went on to open up about the role Weir played in her life after the unexpected death of her mother, Naomi Judd, who died by suicide in April 2022 at the age of 76.

"When Mom passed, we held our {private} celebration of life in Nashville. Sir Robert got the call & showed up with no questions asked," Judd sweetly remembered. "No publicity, no cameras, not even an expectation for him to take the stage—but he insisted on showing up in the best way he knew how."

"He joined the stage with my family, friends, and musical peers. I will FOREVER honor the friendship that turned into family," she continued.

Judd went on to say of Weir, "At times, he was a tough nut to crack, but I will always take pride in the fact that I could get him to laugh."

"Sir Robert Weir… you have left a lasting imprint on my life," she wrote.

Judd concluded the emotional message by saying, "The world lost a legend, I lost a friend. 💔 Here are some of my favorite moments with @bobweir."
