Having a celebrity crush is nothing to be ashamed about, but Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni reveals he should have kept quiet about his. The Law & Order: SVU alum opens up about his starstruck moment seeing Kate Winslet and how he couldn't stop staring.

"Well, one time I was at this celebration of an acting teacher's life, and Kate Winslet was there. I went home and I told my wife because I couldn't stop looking at her — and I'm not usually that guy. I was making excuses to look at Kate Winslet; she was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," said Meloni for PEOPLE's 2025 Sexiest Men Alive.

While being dazzled by Winslet has likely happened to many actors and fans before, Meloni says his biggest error was telling his wife. He reveals that coming clean about his celebrity crush moment still has him in the doghouse.

"I never should have told my wife all this. She's never forgiven me. Or rather, she's never let me forget. But to see Kate Winslet in real life? I went, 'Oh my God.' And she's earthy and she's ballsy. She's cool," he adds.

It may not be a surprise that Meloni was smitten with the Titanic actor. He previously revealed that, when it comes to sex appeal, he looks for a sense of humor and being down-to-earth. Meloni values someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously.

The Law & Order star's heart belongs to no other than his wife, Sherman Williams. Having been together for 30 years and sharing two kids, Meloni credits their relationship to "not being apart for too long."

They have what he calls a "zone" of acceptable time apart, like three weeks, but also admit to being big fans of telling each other and their kids, "I love you."

Meloni stars as his coveted character, Elliot Stabler, in Law & Order: Organized Crime, and will star in Dan Fogelman's upcoming NFL series for Hulu.
