Christina Applegate has launched a new online platform for those affected by MS

The actress was diagnosed with the disease in 2021 and hosts MeSsy, a podcast with friend and fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS

Applegate, 54, jokes that she rates MS "zero stars" and says she wants to create a place for others to share their unique MS experiences

Christina Applegate has never held back about how she feels about living with multiple sclerosis.

The actress, 54, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2021, has admitted that MS, an autoimmune disorder that affects the central nervous system, is the "worst thing I've ever gone through." And on MeSsy, the podcast she hosts with friend and fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, she's been open about everything from her gastrointestinal symptoms to how her illness has affected her daughter, Sadie, 15.

Now Applegate is launching a new online platform, Next in MS, where others affected by MS can share their own experiences, and where she says she'll share what she's learned about living with the condition, which she bluntly rates "Zero stars. Would not recommend. It sucks! It suuuucks.”

Applegate, who is partnering with pharmaceutical company TG Therapeutics on the site, invites others with MS to open up about "the good, the bad, the ugly, the in-betweens, the diapers, the things, whatever it is."

The actress has said that her friendship with Sigler, who was diagnosed with MS more than 20 years ago, has helped her survive and navigate the disease, “If I didn’t have her, I wouldn’t be able to do this life thing,” Applegate told PEOPLE in 2024 of Sigler.

The Dead to Me actress says she hopes this new platform can become a place for others to find similar support. "Together hopefully we can reach more members of the MS community, cut through the noise and talk openly about the truths of living with MS — the challenging ones and the hopeful ones too," she says in a press release about the venture.

Applegate, whose new memoir, "You With the Sad Eyes" is out March 3, promises to share more on the site about her own journey and what she's learned as a result.
