Batman Series Involving Matt Reeves Is Finally Returning 2 Years Later

A popular Batman series that has Matt Reeves attached will soon return with Season 2. Notably, Reeves directed 2022’s The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, and is helming its sequel, The Batman: Part II.
Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 to arrive later this month on Prime Video
Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will begin streaming on Prime Video on July 31, 2026. Reeves serves as an executive producer on the series along with J. J. Abrams and others. Bruce Timm, who previously created iconic shows such as Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond, developed Batman: Caped Crusader as a film-noir reimagining of the DC characters. Timm also serves as a showrunner alongside James Tucker.
The animated series debuted on Prime Video on August 1, 2024. The show was originally supposed to come out on Cartoon Network and HBO Max, but was later shifted to Prime Video, where it immediately received a two-season order. The star-studded voice cast includes Hamish Linklater as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Jason Watkins as Alfred Pennyworth, Eric Morgan Stuart as James “Jim” Gordon, and many more.

The inaugural season of the show received positive responses from professional critics and Prime Video viewers. It currently has a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Akos Peterbencze of The Screen gave Batman: Caped Crusader a positive review, comparing it to Batman: The Animated Series.
“If you were a huge fan of TAS and other subsequent Warner Bros. animations (like The Dark Knight Returns 1-2 or Under the Red Hood), you’ll likely find this iteration of the DC hero both nostalgic and revitalizing. And frankly, as batheads, we can hardly ask for much more.” Peterbencze wrote.
