Radioheadappear to be quietly teasing a return to Australia in 2027, with mysterious flyers linked to the band’s official W.A.S.T.E. network popping up around Melbourne…

The first widely shared sighting surfaced on Reddit on Monday, 31st August, showing a physical Radiohead card marked 2027 that was reportedly found in Melbourne. A QR code on the reverse directed fans to a Melbourne-specific page hosted through W.A.S.T.E. Headquarters, Radiohead’s official fan/mailing list/merchandise/ticketing network…

Since then, more copies of the same mysterious flyer have reportedly appeared around the city, including at Champagne Video in Fitzroy North, Readings Carlton and Dutch Vinyl in Abbotsford.

One Reddit post showed a card sitting above the Radiohead section at Readings, with the poster claiming staff knew nothing about how it got there.

While no Australian tour dates have been formally announced, the campaign bears a pretty striking resemblance to Radiohead’s previous touring teases.

Ahead of the band announcing their first tour in seven years in 2025, mysterious printed flyers began appearing in cities including London, Madrid, Copenhagen and Berlin before the dates were officially revealed.

There are also already several other breadcrumbs pointing towards Radiohead touring our part of the world in 2027.

Earlier this year, guitarist Ed O’Brien said the band planned to return to touring in 2027, with an idea to play roughly 20 shows each year while focusing on a different continent or region. Asia/Oceania was among the areas he specifically mentioned.

Then in August, a Radiohead teaser shown at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival ended with the words “TOKYO 2027”, while fans later discovered Tokyo flyers pointing to another W.A.S.T.E. landing page using a similar 2027-and-city format.

So, while an Australian Radiohead tour is still very much unconfirmed, the Melbourne flyers certainly appear to be more than your standard internet rumour.

Radiohead haven’t toured Australia as a full band since 2012, meaning a 2027 return would end a 15-year wait for local fans.

For now, we’ll be keeping a very close eye on whatever W.A.S.T.E. is cooking…
