Adam Scott hasn’t had an alcoholic drink in 12 years.

The Severance and Parks and Recreation star said he ā€œfaded it outā€ of his life.

ā€œIt wasn’t like a thing — I was never a big drinker,ā€ he said.

Adam Scott long ago gave up drinking — not that it was much of a challenge.

During a recent visit to the Therapuss podcast, the Parks and Recreation alum revealed that he slowly ā€œstopped drinkingā€ alcohol over a decade ago, after slowly phasing it out of his life.

ā€œI haven’t been sick in like, two years,ā€ Scott informed host Jake Shane, which prompted the latter to ask if he drank or smoked.

When Scott denied partaking in either, Shane replied, ā€œThat’s why you look so young. It’s poison.ā€

The Emmy-nominated Severance star and producer, 53, noted that it’d been a long time since he last had any alcoholic beverage. ā€œI stopped drinking, like, 12 years ago,ā€ he explained. ā€œAnd it wasn’t like a thing — I was never a big drinker.Ā I just kind of faded it out.ā€

Scott isn’t the only celebrity who has opened up in recent weeks about their relationship with alcohol. Anna Faris revealed on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast that getting sober helped her change her perspective on her career.

ā€œOne of the many gifts!ā€ Faris said. ā€œIt turns out there’s a correlation between drinking and depression for me, for sure. I had to take a step back and not self-sabotage.ā€

Handler completely understood where Faris was coming from, noting that ā€œdrinking changes as you get older,ā€ too.

ā€œIt’s not the same. It doesn’t have the same effect, impact,ā€ Handler said. ā€œI mean, all things change as you get older, so you have to really be kind of in touch with your person, you know? Like, I don’t drink the way I used to drink… I just don’t have the same desire.ā€

In addition to not drinking, Faris noted that starting a hormone patch has also helped her. ā€œIt made a huge difference for me,ā€ she said.
